A large part of the product legislation has its origin from EU product legislation which is implemented in Swedish legislation in terms of laws, ordinances and regulations.

In this legislation, it is presented among other things what general requirements on health and safety that has to be fulfilled and how the manufacturer should control that the product is compliant. In some cases, the technical control has to take place by a conformity assessment body, but often it is enough that the manufacturer himself ensures that the product is compliant.

Below, a list of examples of such EU directives and the responsible Swedish authorities is presented. Please, note that we cannot guarantee that the list is daily updated, therefore please contact the relevant authority to make sure that you have the latest information on the correct legislation.
